    Cinemark Theatres, Inc. Announces New Location at Southpark Meadows

    Cinemark USA, Inc. and Endeavor Real Estate Group have announced plans to build a 14-screen, all- stadium seated movie theatre at Southpark Meadows Shopping Center. The theatre is expected to open March 2007.

    “Endeavor is thrilled to add Cinemark Theatres as our latest tenant at Southpark Meadows,” says Chris Ellis, Principal with Endeavor Real Estate Group. “Cinemark will add a tremendous entertainment element to our tenant mix which already includes JC Penney, Wal-Mart, Petsmart, Office Max, Circuit City, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ross Dress for Less, Hobby Lobby, Rooms To Go, Ashley Furniture and Bassett Furniture.”

    “With four theatres and 55 screens already in the area and four new theatres expected by 2007, Cinemark’s commitment to Austin has never been stronger,” says Alan Stock, President of Cinemark USA, Inc. “We are looking forward to working with Endeavor and bringing ‘The Best Seat In Town” to Southpark Meadows in March next year.”

    The Cinemark 14 at Southpark Meadows Shopping Center will feature true stadium seating, online ticketing, digital sound, wall-to-wall screens and innovative concession stands. Stadium seating will allow patrons to enjoy unobstructed views from plush, high-backed rocking seats featuring a full 16- inch height difference between each row. The generous 48-inch spacing between each row will give movie-goers ample space to enter and exit their row without disturbing others, as well as allowing customers to stretch their legs. The theatre’s elegant design will be reminiscent of the golden age of Hollywood with art deco architectural elements and a color scheme of muted golds, bronzes, black and red.

    Cinemark USA, Inc. is one of the largest motion picture exhibitors in North America operating 309 theatres, with 3,353 screens in 33 States and internationally in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru, Panama and Taiwan.

    Local Favorite, Amy's Ice Cream, Locates at Southpark Meadows!

    Southpark Meadows is pleased to announce Amy’s Ice Cream as a new tenant at the Grove at Southpark Meadows.

    Amy Simmons, creator of Amy’s Ice Cream has a colorful experience and story about her humble beginnings. After working in the early 80’s with Steve’s Ice Cream, in Manhattan and then opening a new Steve’s in Miami, Amy decided for numerous reasons to venture on her own in the ice cream world. After many site tours, she & her partner at the time decided on Austin, Texas.

    Amy's Ice Creams original store was located on the corner of 34th and Guadalupe for ten years. Amy's has been in its present location, across the street at 3500 Guadalupe, since May of 1995. "The Guad" was formerly home to all of their production, delivery, and catering for Austin. Those guys have moved over to the new Burnet location, but "The Guad" still serves its loyal customers in central Austin.

    Amy’s has become a sweet treat staple in Austin, Texas with 10 locations in Austin, 2 in Houston, and one in San Antonio, Amy’s is proud to announce their newest location at Southpark Meadows.

    Amy's unique approach to ice cream has earned numerous awards and kudos for remaining uniquely Austin. Amy's does not franchise in order to keep the renowned quality and flavor the same for every visitor, no matter the location.

    Owner Amy Miller says: "We've got a lot of buzz words: Human moments with people. Our mission statement is to make people's day. What we know is that people come into the ice cream store here not 'cause they're hungry. They're here 'cause they're with their family and they want to experience something together or some special moment.     Bassett Furniture Announces Second Location in Austin

    Southpark Meadows is pleased to welcome Bassett Furniture, a family-owned business since 1902, to Phase III of the 1.6 million sq. ft. retail development. The 16,200 sq. ft. showroom is expected to open in Fall of 2006. For those of you following development at Southpark Meadows closely, Phase I is currently open, Phase II completion and tenant openings are expected to begin in May 2006, and Phase III tenants will begin opening in the Fall of ’06.

    Bassett Furniture Direct realized in the early 80’s that the furniture-retailing industry’s atmosphere was changing. Huge store chains were quickly consuming small “mom-and-pop” stores. The future of furniture brand retailing was controlled distribution where an assortment of Bassett products could be displayed in a friendly, beautiful setting with trained sales staffs. Bassett takes a unique approach to what they offer their customer, instead of a typical retailer/buyer approach; they prefer to create a “design partnership.”
